What is a gravity-feed wood chipper? Is that the right feature for me?
A gravity-fed wood chipper is one that is fed without the use of a mechanical system, and its feeding funnel is usually heavily inclined so that the weight of the branch aids in 'pushing' itself into the chipping mechanism. A gravity-fed chipper can handle the majority of domestic and professional (often referred to as prosumer) operations. Our machine selection includes two commercial-grade gravity-fed models that allow arborists, landscapers, and tree care entrepreneurs to purchase a brand-new chipper without the high initial cost of a hydraulic device and are surrounded by this type of flora, we recommend investing in a dedicated wood chipper.
Aside from cheap cost, gravity-fed chippers have fewer parts to maintain, which means less unit maintenance and shorter downtimes, and they are significantly safer to operate. When the unit becomes entangled in branches while chipping, the operator's weight is utilized against the chipper's self-feeding force, separating the branch from the rotor and thus stopping the feeding action.
All of the Yardbeast wood chippers for sale here excel in self-feeding, which saves you time by avoiding pushing the branches like many competitors. Of course, the sharpness of the blade is crucial to self-feeding function, so keep an eye out for that.
